On Saturday 8/2/2014 @ 0133 hours station's 74, 2 and 5 were alerted for a reported structure fire @ 410 East State St. Delmar, MD. Command 74 arrived on location with a well involved 2 story single family, Deputy 74 (Morris) established the command and requested a second alarm. E/T-74-3 arrived and advanced 2 handlines into the structure and made quick work of the fire. Extensive overhaul was required and the incident was placed under control @ 0221 hours.
The Maryland State Fire Marshall's office is investigating the incident and it is believed to have started by unattended food on the stove. The fire displaced 1 adult and 4 children and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
Command terminated and all units returned @ 0351 hours
