On March 16, 2026, the Hebron Fire Department was dispatched for a reported petroleum spill in the 6000 block of Cherry Walk Road, west of Hebron.
Ladder 5, along with Deputy 5 (LeCates), arrived on scene and found a septic truck that had left the roadway, overturned on a ditch bank, and came to rest on its roof. The driver was able to self-extricate from the damaged cab prior to the arrival of emergency personnel.
Fire department crews checked the vehicle for fuel or other hazardous leaks and determined that none were present. Once the scene was deemed safe, units cleared the incident.
Simpson’s Towing responded with two heavy-duty rotator wreckers and successfully uprighted the truck before removing it from the scene.
The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office remained on scene to investigate the cause of the crash and manage traffic control while the roadway was temporarily closed.
