Long fall from deer stand

Monday, September 11, 2023
Medical Box 5-3, Long fall with medical assist. Hebron Fire Dept responded for a subject fallen 25 feet. On the afternoon of Sunday 10, 2023, the Hebron Fire Department was alerted for a subject fallen on Quantico Road. While crews were enroute, the Wicomico County 911 Center advised them that this would be for a hunter that fell about 25 feet from a deer stand and about half a mile off the roadway. When EMS crews arrived, they traveled as far as they could in their unit then had to walk the rest of the way because of the rough terrain. When they arrived at the scene, they found a male hunter on the ground with serious injuries. Paramedic A-5/EMS 9 began to stabilize the patient for transport. Due to the rough terrain they had to use a pick-up truck to load the patient into the bed of the truck to transport him to where the ambulance was staged. Once transferred into Paramedic A-5, he was transported to Peninsula Regional in Salisbury for treatment. The Department of Natural Resources Police were on-scene and investigating the accident.
